If your rented property has a burglar alarm installed you are legally required to maintain it, to make sure that it is functioning correctly and is not likely to cause a noise nuisance through poor maintenance. This can result in upset tenants and expensive bills for out of hours call outs, and unnecessary work if you are the letting agent.

Routine maintenance carried out at specified intervals, acceptable for insurance purposes. A point of contact in the event of a fault with the burglar alarm. User guides available for download from our site free of charge. Fixed annual charge, paid in advance by standing order over the course of the year so no big bills.
We can take any system on our maintenance service as long it was professionally installed by a security company registered with either the SSAIB or NSI (formally NACOSS). Systems installed by electrical contractors may be taken on, but DIY systems will not be. If you are not sure we can visit your premises and let you know, as a rule blank alarm boxes are seldom professionally installed systems. If the system does not comply with security standards (previously BS4737, now PD6662) we will quote for a new system.
Our initial inspection of the system will be done at a time suitable to the tenant, and will establish whether the system is of a high enough quality standard. Any issues will be reported in writing to the owner or management company.
We operate throughout Cleveland, County Durham and North Yorkshire and our annual charge is £66 per year for a domestic burglar alarm in a rented property, with the first years charge being due following the initial inspection. A quarterly standing order is then put in place.
